Contract Sales
AgCall Inc. has an exciting opportunity for crop protection sales. In this position, Associates will be responsible for creating demand for the client’s product, by working closely with Ag Retailers, Distributors, and network professionals as they introduce the product to growers of key crops within their territory.
Responsibilities
- Market development with Retailers
- Close contact, communication, and take direction from their assigned company representative.
- Contact and visit targeted retailers in your assigned area with the objective of building awareness and sales of this new biological product.
- Enter all relevant customer and sales data into electronic tracking format in a timely manner, as directed.
- Detail retailers on this unique new product, including agronomics, appropriate programs, etc.
- Gather retailer data related to their use of similar products in the marketplace and satisfaction of current products, programs, or systems.
- Support client with selling and awareness building activities related to the product offering.
- Build retail relationships and network on behalf of the client.
Requirements
- Must be available for day travel to meet with prospective retailer customers, set appointments, and meet with retailers and distributors across the project timeframe.
- Previous experience selling crop protection products to retailers is a must.
- Comfortable with prospecting and cold calling, not discouraged by rejection.
- Able to work independently within the territory, adherence to the sales goals, with minimal client supervision.
- A desire to help customers develop strategies to improve their operations and practices.
- Detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping and communication skills.
- Provide own vehicle, computer, cell phone with voicemail, and fax or scanner.
- May be active/semi-retired or retired retailers, manufacturer/distributor sales reps, agronomists, or other ag professionals; must be comfortable meeting with retailers and going through the sales process.
- Have past and present relationships in agricultural sales, for geography covered, is desirable.
- Experience in product development and go to market strategies.
Training
Associates will report functionally and administratively to AgCall. Associates will receive comprehensive training on the product, the sales and marketing strategy that has been set forth for the brand, and the data collection and submission procedures that are required for payment. Training may be held in-person or via webinar. We provide a competitive wage with bonus structure for all projects. Associates earn an hourly base rate, bonuses, mileage, and expense reimbursement.
