Biological Contract Sales Representative

AgCall Inc. has an exciting opportunity for crop protection industry professionals in select geographies in the U.S. for a contract sales and in-field service program. The role is based on 20-25 hours per week with maximum of 375-400 hours per person, conducting contract sales activities. Work is based from home with a flexible schedule. Spring sales calls and visits to occur leading up to, and following planting season, with a break during spring planting.

Associates will be meeting one-on-one with crop protection retailers, both independent and regional/national, on behalf of the client to assess customer awareness and need for biological products in row crops, educate on the client company and performance of a new biofungicide and encourage introductory order of a new biofungicide. Associates may also be required to work with retail contacts who would be willing to put out a product use trial.

Geography
  • Iowa
    • Candidates can be located in Iowa, southeastern South Dakota, southern Minnesota, or western Illinois to service the Iowa region.
Requirements
  • Must be available for day travel to meet with prospective retailer customers
  • Proven experience in selling crop protection products to retailers or a retail business is a must
  • Biological product experience a plus
  • Comfortable with prospecting, cold-calling and asking for a sale, not discouraged by rejection
  • Able to work independently within the territory, covering your assigned state
  • A desire to help customers develop strategies to improve their operations and practices
  • Detail-oriented with excellent notetaking, record-keeping and communication skills
  • Provide own computer, cell phone with voicemail, email, and fax or scanner
  • May be active/semi-retired or retired retailers, manufacturer/distributor sales reps, agronomists or other ag professionals; must be comfortable meeting with retailers and following a sales process
  • Potential to bring past and present relationships in agricultural sales to the table is desirable
  • Must have reliable transportation to complete in-person visits with retailers
Responsibilities

Product Introduction, Contract Sales & Trial Management:

  • Build relationships with targeted retailers in your assigned area with the objectives of introducing and selling a new biofungicide
  • Educate retailers on the client company, its new biofungicide and other biological products for Midwest row crops
  • Enter all relevant customer feedback, comments and sales data into digital tracking tool in a timely manner, as directed, within 24 hours of the completed call or visit
  • Gather market intel of competitive products, use of biological products and retail satisfaction of current products, programs or systems
  • Support client in selling and awareness-building activities
  • Build retailer relationships on behalf of the client
  • Encourage retailers to participate in corn & soybean trial program, with follow up to collect application and harvest raw data files and pdf reports
  • Meet with AgCall and client on a bi-weekly basis to provide status updates
Training

Associates will receive comprehensive training on the product, the sales and marketing strategy that has been set forth for the brand, and the data collection and submission procedures that are required for payment. Introductory training will be held via video conference with additional training sessions scheduled as required. We provide a competitive wage with bonus structure for all projects. Associates earn an hourly base rate, bonuses, mileage and expense reimbursement.
